This is Installment # 3 of my journals. I still have quite the ways to go in my first journal and then we'll see how far I'll take actually posting these thoughts. For the most part, my current journals are full of fantastical ramblings and lists of things I need to do the next day!
In any case, I'm procrastinating from cleaning and doing this instead for a few minutes! As usual, I'm leaving the original spelling and grammar in tact. I'll put a correction in parentheses if I think it's hard to understand!
Also, these are especially funny to read right now because they are pretty much EXACTLY 20 years ago, give or take a couple of days!
Entry # 9 - July 16, 1988
Last night I sleep over at Amanda's.
We played with her freind Jenen (Janine).
We had a lot of fun.
Ther was an aregue (argument) about a dumb Ken doll betwin Amanda and Jenen.
After the aregu was over we had lunch because we all were hugry.

Entry # 10 - July 18, 1988
Yesterda I went to Jordon's house.
I played baskitball.
Lindsay and Jordan dindin'd (didn't) play with me.
Today I will go to the botanic garden.

Today we will go to a play grup at Ambers.
I think we'll have fun.

Entry # 12 - No date.
Last night I slepet over at my coisns house.
Lindsay and Jordon were crazy.
They wouldn't go to slep.

Today I will go see Big top pee wee. I might bring Kate and Lindsay might bring Shan (Shane).

Today is Lindsay's party. She invited a lot of people. I don't know if Kate is comeing.

Today I will go to gym in school. It will be lots of fun. Last week my teem won for playing hokey (hockey, NOT hooky!). It was lots of fun. They other team lost. The End.

Today is Hallaween. I'm going trick of treating with amanda. We will get lots of candy.

Entry # 17 - November 26, 1988
Today I went ice stating with Courtney and Mom, dad and Lindsay. It was lots of fun with evryone. I loved it.

Well, clearly at this point in my writing I have learned many new adjectives. Everything is still just FUN or FUNNY or A LOT OF FUN. The entries seem to get more involved after that last one - apparantly being in the second grade started to have an influence on me (and you can't see it cause these are typed, but my handwriting is A LOT better!).

I've Been Thinking...
... that I kind of, sort of, maybe might want to try acting. I wonder if there's a community theater out there for me (or, better yet, perhaps MY community needs a community theater!). Just another project for me to tackle, but I've enjoyed my involvement with The Music Man SO much that I think it would be fun to actually be IN a show... but of course my ambitious self would want the lead, even if it would scare me to death to actually do it...

My Private Journals, Installment # 2
I've been neglecting some of the other features of the blog that I have been putting up lately. I'll bring back Travel Tales soon - I know I didn't finish up the Paris story, and I need to start on the Germany story and all manner of other things as well. However, I completely forgot about my journal posting! Fished out the old journal again.
The entries are still not dated, but they're from before I was in 2nd grade (that's when the soon mentioned Courtney moved). My favorite adjective is still 'fun' at this point (or derivitives of it - funny, funniest, funner..),
Now without further ado, the next few entries:
Entry # 4 (we left off at # 3 last time):
I went to Courtney's house. I had fun much fun. Courtney is fun to play with. We had lots of nice and funny things.
Entry # 5 (remember I kept the original grammar and spelling!):
A few days ago Kevin Grady came over.
We played school house and into the future.
We had fun playing tose games.
When it was time for Kevin to go hI didn't want him to because I would have nobody to play with.

Entry # 6 ~ July 6 (Aha! A date, but no year... the top of the page says 2-216, which probably means I was going into 2nd grade cause that was my class):
Today I will go to my moms ofice.
Then we'll go shoping.
I'll go my grandma's house we'll finger paint.

Entry # 7 ~ July 14 (Note: buck=bunk; gibil=girbil)
Last night Kate slep over and we had lots of fun.
We have buck beds.
We put tubes in the gibel cage.
Mommy told us that the gibils would cher up all of the 4 or 3 tubes.

Today I will go to my freind Amanda's house.
We will have fun.
Will have a lot of fun fun fun fun fun.
I might see bambi today.
Bambi will be nice and funny and [word is missing, ink got wet] and sad.

Preparing for the New Year
Start thinking about the things you need to do for next year! It may sound silly, but I DO NOT want to start my new year with a messy kitchen, so I spent some time today cleaning it up. I also put together a food plan so I can stop eating all the junky crap from Christmas and eat healthier stuff again (oh yeah... I also put together an exercise plan that takes me through the first week of February as well)!
In the next three days, I will likely not want to have a messy house in any way shape or form for the New Year (for some reason my head feels much less muddled when the house is clean) and take on many organizing projects. I'd better - because my New Year is filled with extra work!

The Very Private Journals of Kelly Elizabeth Russell Roberts
I have been keeping journals my whole life, and every now and then I like to pull them out and see what I wrote. I started them when I was seven, and I think I'm up to my 35th journal since then (so 35 journals in almost 20 years). The first one I got was a really popular kind when I was younger, with the little lock and key and this pastel, girly pattern on the front:
Some sample entries - apparantly "fun" was the only adjective I knew when I was seven. Oh well... it WAS a simpler time.
Unfortunately at seven I was not in the habit of putting dates on my journal entries, but I'll separate them a bit (and I'll use the ORIGINAL spelling and grammar!):
ENTRY ONE:
I went to my fathers office. I had fun. It was fun. Tomoriw I will go to new lebinon.
ENTRY TWO:
I'm having fun in new lebinon. Today I will go in the trackter. Today I will go in the woods in the trackter.
ENTRY THREE:
I'm leving to go back to Broklen today. I had fun in new lebinon. I had so much fun I didn't want to leve. I went in the trackter yesterday, and this morning. I went with patrick sho(a)ne [apparantly I changed the "o" to an "a" - yeah... the kids name was spelled "Sean"] Joey mom and Lindsay. I had loads of fun. Today I went with only Patrick and shone. We had a graet time. I like fun days instead of boring days. I had lots of fun!
I wonder when "fun" stopped being my favorite word...
I'll do this occasionally... it's fun to see this stuff before I got older and everything got complicated... some of the later stuff I'll keep to myself!
