Holiday Road

This video is one of my favorite home movies. It was made in 1985, just after Jordan's Christening. For some reason, while all hanging out on the front porch, the family befriended a kid who was riding his bike on the street. They then proceeded to invite him into the car (though that's not as sketchy as it sounds!), and MOST of the family crammed themselves into a convertible and drove around the block.

The best part was that the kid was also named Kevin, so we had some fun with the names. Best quote: "Kev, how long have you known Kev?"

Watch him go!

Here's some video of Jack snowboarding this weekend - it was featured on the Belleayre Mountain website (www.belleayre.com).

Featured Christmas Movie # 6

Mickey's Christmas Carol!

"Mine WAS impromptu."

My favorite scene from the The Office (British version).

Snapshot Slideshow: Paris and Lyon

In a completely unrelated trip to the story from earlier, here's our trip (mom's and mine) to Lyon and Paris to visit Lindsay when she lived in France for a semester. It is the first of the many "Snapshot Slideshows" I plan to put together of the various family events.

You Gotta Believe

Just for fun - another blast from the crazy childhood of the cousins: Ghostwriter. What can I say? The lyrics say it all (particulary "Boom-Shacka-Lacka-Boom" by the amazing Sheldon Turnipseed, who played Jamal).

Fun fact: my friend Michelle went to high school with the Ghostwriter cast. That was amazing to find out!

Until the Real Home Movies are Online...

Enjoy this new feature of the site - little 30 second music videos of family events! This one is from Jack's 6th Birthday Party over the summer. I set it to Surfin' USA pretty much because Jack chose to don a wetsuit for the occasion as there was a lot of water-related fun!

If Only...

You would have had to have been living under a rock ten years ago if you didn't know that Kelly, Lindsay and Joe (and Katherine, by osmosis) had an obsession with the Mighty Ducks (the movies, NOT the actual hockey team). Of course, as any fan knows, there are three movies in the franchise: The Mighty Ducks, D2: The Mighty Ducks and D3: The Mighty Ducks.

Fairly recently, me, Pam, Joe, Lindsay and her friend Audrey all went to Roosevelt Field to do some shopping and we're all sitting in the car - Joe in the front, Pam driving, me, Lin and Audrey in the back (Audrey was in the middle I believe). Anyway, at one point Audrey made a comment along the lines of, "I don't know, I think it was D4 or something."

Me, Joe and LIndsay all immediately turned to her and said, "WHAT?!" in unison, so shocked that there might be a D4 that we had never heard of ourselves. As it turned out, it was just a misunderstanding, but it was pretty funny.

Recently, we found this though! (Just think... maybe one day there will be a D4.)

Camp Hymelick

Strangely enough, I don't think Camp Hymelick has ever come up on the family website, despite the fact that hymelick.com gets it's name from it! Camp Hymelick is the epic story of one man's quest for the greatest summer camp. Roger Hymelick (portrayed by Jordan) and his family (portrayed by Kelly, Lindsay, Kara, Emily and other various family members in multiple roles) work together to run Camp Hymelick, a less-than-adequate summer camp. I am in the process of getting all our material onto the computer and transferred to DVD, but it is a looooong process! In the meantime, I remembered that two of our scenes are already up and running.

In this first one, talk show host Capitain von Trapp (played by Kara) and his brother Jumbo (played by Emily) dance with one of their guests, the Minch (played by Lindsay):

Spice Up Your Life

In this next video, Lindsay plays King Howard, a rotund member of royalty who enjoys dancing:

King Howard the Love Machine

More Camp Hymelick tales will follow.
