Quote of the Day

One of the best things about having a big family with lots of kids is hearing the things those kids say! Today's quote of the day comes from Robert, now 10 years old. Ever since he was a baby, he has had this stuffed bunny everyone calls Bun-Bun. When he first grabbed Bun from the toy shelf and adopted him as his own, the rabbit was in perfect condition. Over the years, Bun has seen his share of wear and tear and has had to be patched up many times.

Bun travels everywhere with Robert - to the movies, to the mall (where he was left in a Macy's and a frantic search to find him was thankfully successful!), etc. One day, around six or seven years ago, Robert and family were packing up the car after a visit, and I noticed that Bun was still on the living room couch. I hurried the toy outside and handed it to Robert, already sitting in his car seat.

"What do you say, Robert?" his mom asked.

"Sorry Bun!" he said.

Picture of the Week

This picture of Jordan and Lindsay was taken in West Palm Beach, Florida (featured in the hymelick.com photo gallery in the year 2000 photo gallery) at a Chinese food buffet. Coincidentally, the two of them held their spoonfuls of ice cream up for the picture. This was the first night of an eventful trip to celebrate Great Grandma's 90th birthday party.

Quote of the Day

Before the quote, let me preface: recently we started writing down a lot of the things the family says because inevitably it's pretty funny and sparks some really interesting memories when we recall them! Today's quote is a personal favorite of Kelly and Kara, and it was heard on their April 2004 trip to Hawaii, where Lindsay was in school at the time. We all went on a tour through the island of Oahu and our tour guide was a middle-aged man named Kona. He would give us his own special commentary as we made our way through the island, showing us the sights, scenic or otherwise. One such sight was a shopping mall, which he deemed he wasn't particularly impressed with because, as he so eloquently put it,

"Th'ain't got that great shops."

Watch this spot for stories of our family adventures, posted by various members of the family. In an attempt to get as many stories in as possible, we'll start recapping a lot of the items in photo gallery.

This will also be the place where we post our family family moments and quotes that we hear during these adventures!
